We have mapped out the Watford area in 3D so that we can visualise development in the local area more accurately than ever before. The model includes accurate terrain, solar analysis and shadow casting, street level walk mode, views and sightlines.
Applicants and potential applicants of large and complex schemes will be requested to provide 3D models of their proposals so that the council can assess their proposals within the 3D model as part of the review process.
Applicants and potential applicants are also able to purchase a license to use Watford's 3D model to support their planning application and inform pre-application discussions. Approved development schemes and 16 important views of Watford are all viewable in the 3D model application and available for download and use under license.
