Hertfordshire’s free giveaway for residents, ‘Your Tree Our Future’, is returning for a second year with a minimum of 60,000 trees set to be given away.
Following a successful first year, where 46,000 trees were claimed, Hertfordshire residents can once again apply for up to five free trees made up of nine species which are suited to Hertfordshire’s geography and climate.
Watford Borough Council is supporting the delivery of the scheme alongside Hertfordshire County Council and the county’s other district and borough councils. We have funded an additional 6,000 for our residents.
Elected Mayor of Watford, Peter Taylor, said: “We are proud to, once again, be a part of the ‘Your Tree, Our Future’ to help in enhancing the landscape of Watford. We already have 18% tree canopy cover, beating the national average and with this scheme and others we can do even more. Please take advantage of this opportunity so we can work together in creating a cleaner, greener Watford.”
