On Monday 24 July, the Chairman Cllr Simon Feldman, in partnership with the council and Hertfordshire Mind Network, will hold a free mental health workshop for local businesses.
Mental health has become an increasingly vital topic, especially in the work place. Mind conducted a survey of 12,000 people in April 2021 and found that that 1 in 5 adults did not seek support during the pandemic because they didn’t think their problem was serious enough.
The mental health workshop will demonstrate how to help employees who are experiencing issues with their mental health and create a positive and empathetic work environment. Participants will have the opportunity to learn from industry experts and gain actionable strategies to create a work culture that prioritises mental well-being.
Chairman of the Council, Councillor Simon Feldman, said: “We are thrilled to working with Hertfordshire Mind Network to bring this important workshop to local businesses. By sharing knowledge, experiences, and best practices, we aim to empower Watford businesses to create a workplace culture that promotes mental well-being, resilience and productivity.”
Louis Breese, Fundraising & Engagement manager at Hertfordshire Mind Network, said "We are very grateful to be involved in this event. It is a wonderful opportunity for us to help local businesses support their employees. Events like this are so important as the majority of people spend a large amount of time at work therefore it is crucial to be in an environment where mental health and wellbeing is a priority. A massive thank you to Simon, and all at Watford Council for their ongoing support for us.”
