Safer Watford is asking the public for their input through a consultation process regarding the renewal and amendments of two Public Space Protection Orders (PSPOs).
Safer Watford, Watford’s Community Safety Partnership, is holding a consultation on the renewal of two PSPOs. The PSPOs relate to prohibiting non-commercial vehicles from entering Albert Road South between specific time frames, and preventing the consumption of alcohol in public spaces.

PSPOs are designed to address specific issues that may negatively impact the quality of life within a designated area. They are a vital tool in maintaining the safety and family-friendly atmosphere of our town and the consultation aims to get the community’s insight to ensure they continue to be effective.
The public consultation to renew the existing PSPOs starts on Tuesday 10 October and will last for three weeks. It provides an opportunity for the community to voice their opinions about and suggestions for the PSPOs and their potential improvements.
Key aspects of the renewals and proposed changes include:
- Amending the days in which the PSPO is in place on Albert Road South
- Extending the boundary for preventing the consumption of alcohol in public spaces
