Hertfordshire Growth Board (HGB) is calling on those with a connection to the county to fill out a short survey and have their say on how Hertfordshire’s Leadership can best focus its efforts.

Made up of representatives from across Hertfordshire County Council, Hertfordshire LEP, the 10 district and borough councils, the police and health, HGB works together to deliver a thriving and sustainable economy, environment and society across the county.

The short online survey will help to inform HGB’s vision and ambition for Herts, taking the public’s opinion across priority areas which they believe will positively impact the future of the County’s place, people and economy.

The results will aim to ensure that Hertfordshire continues to be the county of opportunity for all, a place where our people thrive, our places prosper and businesses succeed.

The areas the survey is seeking views on include:

  1. A world class economy
  2. Digital access for all
  3. Transport for Hertfordshire
  4. Quality affordable housing
  5. Healthy places for all
  6. Sustainable County

In establishing its vision and priorities, HGB will work towards maintaining Hertfordshire’s position as a world-class economy, delivering healthy, inclusive, safe and connected communities who have access to skills, good jobs, and sustainable quality places to live.

Cllr Richard Roberts, Leader of Hertfordshire County Council and Chair of the Growth Board said:

“Hertfordshire is a county of prosperity and opportunity, with one of the strongest economies in the country. We have some of the highest performing schools and best employment rates. Our strong business and entrepreneurial spirit, makes the county an attractive place to locate for industry.

“Working in partnership with the district and borough councils and businesses, we want to make sure that Hertfordshire continues to be the county that seizes great opportunities and that our residents lead healthy and fulfilling lives in thriving communities.

“As Leader of Hertfordshire County Council and Chair of the Growth Board, I want to hear from residents, businesses, and other partners, to better understand the differing needs and aspirations, so that we continue to be recognised as a great place to live, work and do business.”

Cllr Elizabeth Dennis, Leaders of North Herts Council and Vice Chair of the Hertfordshire Growth Board, said:

“We want to deliver a vision for Hertfordshire which responds to the things which matter most to the people who live, work, and visit the county. By doing this we will deliver benefits for communities which go far beyond crude economic outputs and deliver a socially wealthy county.

“Working in partnership with the business community, district, and borough councils we want to responsibly deliver good growth for all. To do this, we must first understand the needs and challenges faced by people, then plot a route forward, working together to overcome them.

“Whether you live, work, or have an active interest in the county we want to hear your thoughts via our survey. Your feedback will play a crucial role when it comes to informing our future direction – the findings will have a significant influence on our core county-wide missions for years to come.”
