Elected Mayor of Watford, Peter Taylor, said: “I know how important it is for the physical and mental health of young people that we have excellent playgrounds right across the town.

“Every year since 2013, the council has delivered significant improvements to play and recreational facilities in all parts of Watford. This includes investing in a lot of play areas, to provide really exciting and challenging play equipment for children to enjoy. I’m thrilled we’ve added Aspen Park Drive Playground to this list.”

Councillor Tim Williams, Portfolio Holder for Parks, said: “The improvements at Aspen Park Drive Playground build on the council’s work to improve more of the town’s parks and open spaces and children’s play areas.

“Over the last ten years, award-winning major projects have included the Cassiobury Park Restoration Project and the creation of the Oxhey Activity Park. Other key projects have included the adventure playgrounds at Harwoods and Harebreaks, the new play area at Garston Park and an array of new facilities at King George V Playing Fields.”
