This initiative is part of the development of a new 10-year Greenspace Strategy, which will guide the management and enhancement of Watford’s parks and open spaces until 2035. The strategy is being developed with the expertise of Arkwood, a leading environmental consultancy, and will focus on ensuring that Watford’s greenspaces continue to meet the needs of residents while supporting the environment and biodiversity.

The survey is now live and will remain open until 14 September 2024. Residents of Watford are encouraged to participate and share their views on the town’s parks and open spaces, including how they use them, what they value most, and their aspirations for the future of these vital community assets.

Watford is home to numerous award-winning greenspaces, and these areas are consistently highlighted as a top priority by residents. Quality greenspaces are essential for promoting health and wellbeing, fostering community spirit, and supporting the environment. The feedback gathered from the survey will play a crucial role in shaping the new Greenspace Strategy, ensuring that it reflects the needs and desires of the community.

In addition to the survey, Watford Borough Council will be hosting a series of consultation events where residents can share their thoughts in person:

  • Thursday 5 September, Cedar Café, Cassiobury Park: 10am to 6pm
  • Saturday 14 September, Watford Market, Town Centre: 10am to 3pm

These events provide an opportunity for residents to engage directly with council representatives and contribute to the future planning of Watford’s greenspaces.

Residents can access the survey mpt.link/watfordgreenspacestrategy and complete it online at their convenience. The survey is designed to be quick and easy to complete, ensuring that everyone can have their say. The survey will close on 14 September 2024.
