Chairwoman’s fundraising walk raises over £6,000 for nominated charities

Chairwoman Fundraising Walk 2024

Watford's community came together on Saturday 14 September 2024, for a successful Charity Fundraising Walk hosted by Chairwoman, Cllr Dawn Allen-Williamson, at Cassiobury Park.

The event has raised over £6,049 for the Chairwoman’s chosen charities, Manna Foodbank and Ngorli CIC, which provide essential support to those in need within the local community.

The walk saw individuals from across the borough unite for a fun-filled day, in support Manna Foodbank, which provides emergency food supplies, and Ngorli CIC, an organisation dedicated to empowering young people through education and personal development.

Chairwoman Cllr Dawn Allen-Williamson said:  "I am overwhelmed by the community's generosity and support. Seeing so many people come together for such an important cause has been truly inspiring. Both Manna Foodbank and Ngorli CIC do incredible work in our community, and the funds raised will go a long way in helping them continue their vital services. Whether you joined us for the walk or contributed in other ways, thank you for making a difference.

“A group of 11 of us completed a 12-mile walk covering Cassiobury Park, The Grove and Whippendell Wood. As a thank you, I treated 8 participants to lunch at The Harvester. I would like to extend a big thank you to our key sponsors: 1Life Events, Berkley Designed for Life, A1 Taxis and Hilton London Watford. Also to Lazar Print for donating the t-shirt for the sponsored walk.”
