Watford Museum is seeking two passionate individuals with a deep connection to Watford and its history to join our group of Co Curators.
This initiative offers a unique opportunity to actively contribute to the design and content of the new Watford Museum, allowing participants to share their personal stories and perspectives on the town's rich heritage.
As a Co-Curator, you will play a key role in shaping how Watford’s history is preserved and shared with future generations. By joining, you’ll also have the chance to collaborate with others in the local community who share your passion for Watford’s vibrant past.
Elected Mayor of Watford, Peter Taylor, said: "This is a fantastic opportunity for the people of Watford to help shape how our town's history is presented to the community. Our residents are at the heart of our story, and this project ensures their voices will be heard in the museum. I encourage anyone who feels a connection to Watford to get involved and become part of this important venture."
Those interested in contributing as a Co-Curator are invited to contact Naajia Ahmed at naajia.ahmed@watford.gov.uk or visit watfordmuseum.org.uk/communitycallout for more information. The deadline for applications is midday on Monday 4 November.
This project is made possible through the generous support of The National Lottery Heritage Fund. A special thanks is extended to the National Lottery players for making this project a reality and helping us celebrate Watford’s rich and diverse history.
Don’t miss your chance to be part of this extraordinary initiative and help bring Watford’s story to life!
Work on the new museum will start in early 2025, with completion by 2026. Throughout the process, residents will be able to get further involved in shaping its future through workshops and events. For more information, please visit watfordtownhallquarter.com.
