Watford Museum on Tour is bringing history to life with ‘Let’s Play!’, a special event celebrating toys and games from across the ages.

Families are invited to The Hub, Cassiobury Park, on Thursday 10 April 2025, from 10:30am to 2pm, for a day packed with hands-on activities, creative crafts, and a nostalgic look at classic toys.

The first Watford Museum on Tour event of 2025 will include a toy swap, encouraging families to bring along unwanted toys, books, and games to exchange for something new-to-them. A craft zone will give children the chance to create their very own sock bears from odd socks, while a museum toy display will showcase classic toys from decades past. For those who love the outdoors, a historic games trail will challenge families to find and play six traditional games hidden in the gardens.

Elected Mayor of Watford, Peter Taylor, said: “This is a fantastic opportunity for families to come together, have fun, and learn about the toys and games that have entertained generations. Events like this not only celebrate our history but also bring our community closer. Watford Museum on Tour is bringing heritage to the community whilst the new museum prepares to open in the Town Hall, making it even easier for people to engage with our town’s rich past. I encourage everyone to come along, swap some toys, and enjoy a wonderful day in Cassiobury Park.”

This free event is open to all, with no booking required. Children must be supervised by an adult at all times.
