Watford Fringe

The box office has opened on the Watford Fringe Festival 2025, which this year is set to see a record-breaking number of venues and acts taking part.

An extraordinary live line-up of great theatre, music, comedy, dance, magic and family fun-filled shows is planned across the whole of the month of July, right on your doorstep.

So far, we’re expecting well over 100 performances across the festival with more acts expected to sign up by the end of May. There’s everything from pre-Edinburgh shows and returning favourites, to local talent, special youth performances, award-winning acts and premieres of new material. Whether you’re looking for opera, jazz or songs from the shows, belly laughs or emotional drama, family friendly shows or performances to champion LGBTQ and disability perspectives, there’s a show for you. We’ve even got live Pro-Wrestling on offer.

This year there will be 23+ different performance spaces hosting shows across Watford including the Watford Pump House, Watford Library, the Wellspring Centre, St Mary’s Church, Oxhey Chapel, West Herts College, Johnnys, Canvas, Lanchester School, Metropolitan Bushey, and the Mad Squirrel.

The Festival is organised by the Watford Pump House in partnership with Watford Borough Council and sponsored by Watford Town Centre and Warner Bros Studios Leavesden.

Lee Farman, chair of the Watford Pump House, said: “From its humble beginnings nearly 10 years ago, the Watford Fringe Festival has grown into a well-established fixture in the cultural calendar.

“We’re really excited about the range and quality of performing arts we’re able to bring audiences in Watford this year. Some of these shows are going to sell out fast so we highly recommend booking your tickets early to avoid disappointment.”

There’s still time to sign up as a performer. Anyone and everyone is welcome to apply, there's no selection criteria. All you need to do is register your event online before the end of May.

And with the expectation of more performances this year, organisers need more volunteers to help run the show and make sure audiences are well looked after. Could this be you?
