Clinical yellow / orange bag collection
The types of collections we offer for waste such as incontinence pads, stoma bags, catheter bags and minor first aid dressings depends on the following:
- whether the waste comes from a person with a known infection that affects the waste being produced
- the quantity of waste produced on a weekly basis
In most cases, we collect healthcare waste such as incontinence pads, stoma bags, catheter bags and minor first aid dressings in your black bin as part of your regular waste collection. We collect this waste in the same way that we collect nappies or sanitary waste. Please bag and tie securely before placing in you black bin.
When do you provide a clinical waste sack collection?
We only offer a separate clinical waste collection where the quantity of healthcare waste is 7 black bags or more per week or where the waste has been identified by a healthcare professional as infectious.
If you are producing large quantities of healthcare waste or think your healthcare waste may be infectious - for example due to an illness, operation or medication please apply online for a clinical sack collection.
