Existing customers

Renewals

If you previously paid by card, you can renew your service for the next period (1 September to 31 August). For your service to continue without a break in collections please renew by early August.

If you paid by direct debit your service will renew automatically. Your payment will be taken on 1 July.

All Direct Debit customers will receive new stickers by mid-August. Please apply these to the back of your green bin ready for collection.

Changes

If you pay for your garden waste by direct debit you will not be able to make any changes to your payment after Friday 21 June.

Your next payment will automatically be taken on 1 July.

If you no longer want the service please cancel your account, refunds can then be requested after 10 July, please email wasteandrecycling@watford.gov.uk

New customers

Sign up to the service

The service period runs from 1 September 2024 to 31 August 2025. You can sign up now or at any time throughout the year. There are no discounts if you sign up part-way through the year and no refunds if you stop using the service.

How does it work?

Follow these steps:

  1. Login or register to your My Watford account
  2. Sign up for the garden waste collection service
  3. After signing up, you will receive a sticker per bin showing you have paid (allow up to two weeks to arrive)
  4. Apply the sticker to the back of your green bin
  5. Put your bin out for collection on your property boundary by 6am on your collection day
  6. Return your bin to your property boundary within 24 hours of collection

How much does it cost?

Standard

  • £55 a year for first bin
  • £75 a year for each additional bin (up to seven bins in total)

Qualifying schools, places of worship and charity shops

  • £50 a year for each bin (up to seven bins in total)
